Fred
Fred is a licensed builder at STG Building with more than 40 years of hands-on experience in the building and construction industry. He's a second-generation carpenter and has worked at almost every stage of a project: raw land and civil works, frame and roof, final handover. That breadth is why clients and consultants trust him with complex, multi-stage developments across Sydney.
Experience
Four decades of building experience
Fred started on the tools in a family of structural carpenters. He learned the trade from the ground up, and that experience still shapes how he approaches every project. He spent close to 30 years in frame carpentry, roof carpentry and formwork, working on homes, multi-unit developments and commercial projects. He has since applied that grounding to full-scale building, delivering medium-to-large residential unit and multi-dwelling projects.

Areas of expertise
- Civil works Site preparation, earthworks, drainage, retaining structures and service connections. These set a project up properly from day one.
- Land subdivisions Taking sites from raw land to subdivided lots, including coordinating surveyors, engineers and authorities through to registration.
- Planning & approvals Guiding DA, CDC and construction certificate applications through council and private certification. Fred knows from long experience what it takes to get a project approved and moving.
- Frame & roof carpentry Expert structural carpentry built over a lifetime in the trade.
- Formwork A detailed working knowledge of concrete formwork for slabs, footings and multi-level structures.
- Project delivery Managing programs, budgets, trades and quality control from design through construction to completion.
Approach
A builder who knows the site
What sets Fred apart is that he understands the work at trade level. He can read a set of plans and see the problems before they reach site. He can talk formwork with a concreter, set-out with a surveyor and staging with a developer, all on the same day.
That practical knowledge helps clients avoid costly surprises. Projects run more smoothly, timelines are realistic, and quality is checked by someone who has done the work himself.
